Ross qualified as a solicitor of England and Wales in 1984 and as an Attorney-at-Law in New York in 1990. He also has a B.A. (Hons) in Law and an LL.M. in International Business Law.

Ross is a partner and specialises in litigation. The principal areas of his practice includes English and international litigation involving all aspects of insurance and reinsurance coverage disputes, general aviation, space, product liability, shipping and commercial matters.

Ross has been appointed as an expert insurance solicitor in English High Court litigation and also in French Commercial Court proceedings.  He has been appointed as an Adjudicator in a Scheme of Arrangement for an insurance company.  He acts as an adviser on insurance texts for Butterworths (law book publishers).  Rod Margo acknowledged his assistance in the preparation of the 3rd edition of Aviation Insurance.
