Adriaan is a Counsel at Clyde & Co's Munich office, specializing in corporate law.

His practice spans domestic, international, and cross-border mergers and acquisitions (M&A), venture capital, joint ventures, corporate insurance, and transactional liability insurance. With a comprehensive understanding of the entire M&A lifecycle, Adriaan advises clients on deal structuring, due diligence, contract negotiation, and risk management.

A key member of the firm’s global insurtech team, Adriaan advises companies throughout the value chain, supporting startups as they scale and working closely with innovation teams at leading insurers. He guides clients through every phase of the investment lifecycle.

Adriaan has also completed in-house secondments with the M&A team of a multinational financial corporation in Frankfurt am Main and the London-based legal team of a Swiss financial institution, gaining valuable insights into the operational dynamics of global corporations and the complexities of cross-border transactions.

Recognized as "One to Watch" for corporate law by Best Lawyers (2024), Adriaan holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Laws from Stellenbosch University. He also spent time abroad during his studies, completing an exchange semester at Bucerius Law School in Hamburg and a short course in human rights law at Humboldt University of Berlin. 

Adriaan is fluent in English, German and Afrikaans.
