David has acted in a wide range of cases involving international disputes and has represented clients in the UK courts at all levels, in mediations and in international arbitrations, including ICC, LCIA and UNCITRAL.

He has extensive experience of regulatory law, including fraud, bribery and corruption, health, safety, and environmental law. He has defended companies and individuals in a wide range of criminal prosecutions in the UK. As a dual-qualified lawyer, he practices in the courts in England, Wales and Scotland.

David has significant international experience in the energy and construction industries, having formerly been in-house Legal Counsel for Schlumberger in Paris. He was until recently the Europe/Africa Director of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators and is a contributor to Butterworths Corporate Liability.

David graduated from Edinburgh University with honours in law in 1984 and qualified in Scotland in 1987 and in England and Wales in 1992. He was called to the English Bar in 1994 and practised in the Chambers of Walter Aylen QC at Lincoln's Inn.
