George is a Legal Director in Clyde & Co's Trade & Energy team. He is an expert in the resolution of disputes within the commodities sector including those relating to oil and gas, metals & mining and the soft commodities sector (sugar, grain and edible oils). George's expertise extends to the resolution of disputes in the English courts, under international arbitration rules (including those of the ICC, UNCITRAL and the LCIA) and trade arbitration rules (including those of FOSFA, GAFTA and RSA). He also advises clients in relation to regulatory and compliance issues.
George has advised oil and gas and other companies on a range of matters including commercial disputes and also maritime and international boundary issues often involving a contentious element. He has advised in relation to wider public international law issues in Africa and other regions. In this respect George has experience of the International Court of Justice in the Hague.
George spent six months seconded to the in-house legal department of Shell International in London. He has spoken on a number of occasions about law of the sea, oil and gas and arbitration generally and has been recommended by the Legal 500.
