Global law firm Clyde & Co today announced the promotion of nine new partners across its international network. This latest growth in the firm's partner base means it has more than 375 partners worldwide. The promotions are effective from 1 May 2017.
Across the firm's global sector groups, insurance saw the largest intake of new partners, with trade & commodities, marine, projects & construction and the corporate team all bolstering their ranks. Two of the new promotions are women.
The global spread of the promotions demonstrates the firm's strong international office network, with 47 offices and associated offices across six continents. Nearly half (four) of the new partner promotions were in Asia Pacific (APAC), with three in the UK, one in the Middle East and Africa (MEA), and one in the US.
During the past 12 months Clyde & Co has made 36 partner level hires, including 15 in the US, 13 in the UK and Europe, 7 in APAC, and 1 in MEA. This includes the entire team from Miami litigation firm, Thornton Davis Fein and an insurance team led by Henning Schaloske from Noerr, a full-service, leading European law firm.
Growth during the year also came from the hiring of a ten-partner insurance and litigation group from Troutman Sanders LLP and the launch of offices in Chicago and Washington, DC.
Simon Konsta, Senior Partner at Clyde & Co, comments: "As an international firm, we're proud that our new partners reflect the diverse range of people, talent and countries in which we do business. It also demonstrates the opportunities we give people to grow and develop with us across the world. The group contains top calibre lawyers who have demonstrated the market-leading advice and client service that we're known for."
