Máire joined the firm in 1988 as a commercial litigator and is a partner in the International Trade, Energy and Arbitration Group based in our London office.
Máire has experience in all aspects of trade, finance, insurance, energy, transport and logistics, representing clients in international arbitration, litigation and mediation, involving multiple parties and multi jurisdictional issues.
She moved to work in the Clyde & Co Moscow office in May 2008 until June 2013, where she acted for international contractors involved in onshore (Caspian pipeline) and offshore (Black Sea, Sakhalin) construction projects. Her work involved negotiating construction and sub-contractor contracts (FIDIC, LOGIC, Bespoke), advising on various regulatory requirements for design, survey and construction projects in Russia, permits, certificates and approvals from regulatory bodies such as Rostechnadzor (Ecological, Technical, Atomic), Rosprirodnadzor (Environment Protection Agency) and Rosvodresursi (Natural Resources) and Customs and Migration issues. She represented shipowners before the Russian International Commercial Arbitration Court at the Chamber of Commerce & Industry Moscow and acted in cases before various State Arbitrazh (commercial) courts in transport, insurance and reinsurance claims. She also represented Russian clients with claims before the English court and before the LCIA. As a result of her experience in Russia she is a key member of Clyde & Co's Russian team in London.
