Session 3 – Resolving Disputes Arising from GBA Development

The GBA is a key strategic component of China’s national development blueprint. It aims to promote in-depth cooperation among nine cities in Guangdong Province, Hong Kong and Macao, with the aim to develop a world–class city cluster by way of reforms, innovation and opening-up. The size, economic potential and interconnectivity of the GBA will create unprecedented opportunities for a wide range for businesses. Nevertheless, despite the significant business opportunities, the GBA also faces challenges and uncertainties.

In our 1st and 2nd webinar series, we discussed how local and international data and cyber laws will affect cross-border businesses in the GBA; the issues in relation to the geopolitical landscape between China and U.S.; and the impact of COVID-19 on contractual claims.

In this 3rd webinar series, our team of legal experts will discuss various modes of dispute resolution in the GBA which comprises three different legal systems; particularly the changing face of the arbitration landscape in the region and factors to be considered before embarking on an arbitration.  We will also cover the new online scheme in Hong Kong facilitating the speedy resolution of small and medium-sized disputes arising out of COVID-19.

The presentation will conclude with a Q&A session.
