Overview

In the latest of our Complex Injury Forum series of webinars we focus on advances in both rehabilitation and components (prosthetics and orthotics). This is an area in which the pace of development is astonishing, and the options available for seriously injured people continually alter as a result.

We’ll be joined by Matthew Hughes, Managing Director / Prosthetist & Orthotist at Dorset Orthopaedic, to talk more about his work and the latest developments in this area of interest to insurers. Leanne Conisbee, Legal Director at Clyde & Co will chair the talk.

About the Complex Injury Forum

In 2019 we launched a series of live events and webinars giving insurers the opportunity to hear from and put their questions to leading experts in established and emerging areas of complex injury. Each session is chaired by a senior member of our nationally-renowned Catastrophic Injury and Large Loss team.

Speaker Profile

Matthew joined Dorset Orthopaedic in 2001 after graduating from the University of Salford with a degree in prosthetics and orthotics. He began his career with Dorset Orthopaedic as an Orthotist and Prosthetist, developing a particular interest in paediatric treatment and orthotic treatment.

Before becoming Clinic Manager at the Ringwood Clinic in 2013, Matthew was responsible for the development of clinical partners for Dorset Orthopaedic around the world, presenting and lecturing on the use of silicone in prosthetics and orthotics, as well as developing new everyday silicone solutions for patients.

Matthew is passionate about his clinical work and helping patients return to improved levels of comfort, mobility and independence.
