The implementation of the European Directive on the Protection of Whistleblowers is still behind schedule in Germany.

After the non-implementation has already led to the initiation of infringement proceedings against the Federal Republic, the German legislature is currently working at full speed on the draft law.

In our Month in Review, we report on the current status of the implementation of the Directive and the main new regulations in the planned Whistleblower Protection Act. In addition to the design of the mandatory reporting systems, we focus in particular on the legal consequences of violations and the effects on the insurance industry.
