Maria is an associate in the International Arbitration and Litigation Practice based in the Paris office. Maria's practice is focused on commercial and investor-State arbitration, as well as post-award proceedings and cross-border litigation.

Prior to joining Clyde & Co, Maria acquired wide-ranging experience in international arbitration and litigation in another international law firm in Paris. Maria's arbitration practice was notably focused on ICC, ICSID, PCA and ad hoc arbitration matters, but also on setting aside and enforcement proceedings before French courts. Maria's experience in cross-border litigation includes enforcement of foreign judgments and obtaining conservatory measures in the framework of foreign judicial proceedings.

Maria was admitted to the Paris bar in 2023. She obtained an LL.M. in Transnational Arbitration and Dispute Settlement from the Paris Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po) in 2019. Before coming to France, she received a Bachelor's degree in International Law (2016) and a Master's degree in International Financial Law (2018) from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO). In 2018, Maria worked as tax consultant in an international accounting and consulting firm.

Maria can advise clients in English, French and Russian.

  • Representing a French company in an ad hoc arbitration seated in Paris related to a dispute arising out of a patent and know-how license agreement
  • Representing a U.S.-based company in an ICSID arbitration over a public-private partnership relating to an infrastructure project
  • Representing a sovereign State in an SCC arbitration under the Energy Charter Treaty relating to non-performance of a natural gas supply contract
  • Representing a sovereign State in a PCA arbitration under the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules related to non-performance of a public works conract in the framework of a road construction project
  • Defending attachments of French property held via a complex ownership scheme with the aim of recovering a multi-million debt, as well as overall handling of the related cross-border litigation proceedings
