Chiara is an English qualified Solicitor and Associate in Clyde & Co’s Dispute Resolution (Energy, Marine, and Natural Resources) department and is based in Dubai

Prior to joining the Dubai office, Chiara gained experience in the firm’s London office where she was involved in assisting on a wide range of matters encompassing marine, international arbitration, construction, insurance, energy and natural resources.

Chiara has experience of all stages of the arbitral process and has represented clients in arbitrations conducted under the major arbitral rules (e.g. LCIA, ICC and DIAC) as well as in proceedings before the Dubai International Financial Centre Courts and the High Court In London.

Chiara is fluent in Italian and English.

Experience

• Representing international traders in contractual disputes relating to the procurement of high-speed diesel and base oil;
• Advising an international distributor against an Iraqi company in a contractual claim for unpaid invoices relating to the supply of, but not limited to, diesel and natural gas engines;
• Advising generally on contracts for the provision of goods for the exploration and production of oil and gas;
• Acting for investors in a billion-dollar UNCITRAL arbitration arising out of the mismanagement of a copper mine in Sub-Saharan Africa;
• Representing claimants in an ICC recovery action arbitration against international suppliers of a turbine failure at a Peruvian power plant;
• Acting in a multimillion-dollar ICC arbitration arising out of a Production Sharing Agreement; and
• Acting in a USD 130 million LCIA arbitration involving the wrongful termination of a drilling contract, offshore Libya.
