Clyde & Co re-hires insurance coverage lawyer Stacey Rufe as Partner in Washington D.C.

Global law firm Clyde & Co has today announced that Stacey Rufe will re-join the firm as a Partner in its global insurance practice, based in Washington D.C.

Clyde & Co re-hires insurance coverage lawyer Stacey Rufe as Partner in Washington D.C.

Stacey is an experienced insurance coverage lawyer with a particular focus on complex high exposure financial lines matters, including D&O, private equity and professional liability. She has over 15 years’ experience as a practicing attorney representing insurance carriers in coverage matters and litigation.  Clients have included AXA XL, Tokio Marine HCC, and CNA.

Stacey previously was a Senior Counsel at Clyde & Co and one of the founders at the opening of the Washington DC office in 2017.  Stacey re-joins Clyde & Co from CNA Insurance, where she was Senior Litigation Counsel in the Claim Legal Group.

At CNA, Stacey’s role included providing coverage advice to claims professionals in specialty lines, resolving claims and attending mediations, and working with in-house and outside counsel on coverage litigation. In addition to public and private D&O matters, Stacey also provided coverage advice with respect to financial lines Errors and Admissions (E&O), private equity, Employment Practices Liability, professional lines (lawyers and accountants E&O), and cyber, tech and media policies.

Stacey’s arrival follows the recent hire of Partner Kenneth Quinn and Senior Counsel Orla Brady, both based in Washington D.C., who joined Clyde & Co’s global aviation practice. Kenneth is a leading international aviation lawyer and industry expert with over 30 years of experience. Orla joined from the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington D.C where she was a Trial Attorney.
