Clyde & Co promotes Priya Gobal to Partner in Singapore

Global law firm Clyde & Co today announces the mid-year promotion of Priya Gobal to partner, effective 1 November. Based in Singapore, Priya focuses on Financial Lines, General Liability, and Trade Credit claims.

In-depth Insurance expertise

Priya brings extensive experience in acting for (re)insurers, specialising in Financial Lines and General Liability claims – including coverage, monitoring and defence – across D&O, Financial Institutions, Professional Indemnity, Crime and W&I policies amongst others. In addition, she has substantial experience in handling claims arising from trade credit policies.

Priya has handled complex coverage issues arising from significant claims across various jurisdictions, including many parts of Asia, Mauritius and the United States. She also assists (re)insurers in monitoring and managing litigation and arbitration in jurisdictions worldwide.

Priya also advises on policy wordings and product development across these lines of insurance business.

Prior to specialising in insurance, Priya practised general commercial litigation and arbitration as well as criminal defence work at a leading local firm. In that role, she appeared on behalf of clients at all levels of the Singapore Courts.

Priya is called to the Singapore Bar and is admitted as a solicitor in England & Wales. She serves on the Professional Liability Underwriting Society committee (Singapore Chapter).

Simon McConnell, Partner, Asia Pacific Board Chair, Hong Kong, said: “Our clients rely on us to help them navigate the complex and rapidly evolving risks that define today’s business environment. Priya’s promotion is testament to her expertise, leadership, and dedication, which will further strengthen our ability to support clients in the region. I wish her every success in her new role.”

Ian Roberts, Partner, Singapore/London, said: “The firm has a strong Financial Lines, General Liability and Trade Credit claims practice in Singapore and across the region. Continued organic growth will allow us to seize opportunities arising from the everchanging risk environment, where we see strong demand for help from our insurance clients.”

Priya Gobal said: “This promotion marks a significant milestone in my career. I am grateful for the continued support of our insurance clients in this region and energised by what lies ahead. I look forward to harnessing the firm’s global platform to serve our clients and contribute to the growth and evolution of this dynamic sector.”
