Clyde & Co adds further depth to Australia disputes practice

Global law firm Clyde & Co today announces the further expansion of its Australia disputes practice with the appointment of Andrew Pullinger as Partner in Perth. 

Andrew is a commercial disputes lawyer with extensive experience in complex litigation, international arbitration and dispute resolution across the infrastructure, energy and resources, financial services and professional services sectors. Having built an international practice spanning Australia, London and the Cayman Islands over almost two decades of practice, Andrew returns home to join Clyde & Co with a track record of advising clients on their most significant and high-value disputes.  

His experience includes leading the successful defence of HSBC in decade-long claims by a Madoff feeder fund seeking more than US$2 billion in damages; representing a sovereign state in an €800m ICC arbitration concerning a major infrastructure project; acting in a private equity dispute exceeding US$150 million involving fraud and conspiracy allegations; and defending a global accounting firm in US$300 million professional negligence claims pursued through parallel arbitration and litigation. 

Andrew’s practice spans trial and appellate litigation, international arbitration, shareholder and investor matters, fraud and asset recovery, and complex cross-border disputes. He is admitted in Western Australia, England & Wales, the Cayman Islands and the British Virgin Islands.    

Andrew holds post-graduate qualifications in international arbitration and finance and is a former Chapter Chair and Branch Vice-Chair of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He has taught International Commercial Arbitration at the University of Western Australia, and has been recognised by Chambers & Partners, Legal 500 and Who’s Who Legal for commercial litigation and international arbitration.

He will join a team of nearly 50 disputes lawyers across Australia, and the firm’s wider regional disputes practice with 35 partners and 100 lawyers overall across Asia Pacific.
