Clyde & Co strengthens US appellate practice with appointment of C. Briggs Johnson in New York

Briggs joins from New York-based law firm Gallo Vitucci Klar LLP, where he built a sterling reputation as a skilled appellate advocate and litigation and trial strategist. His arrival strengthens Clyde & Co's growing appellate and trial monitoring offerings on the East Coast and adds further depth to the firm's national disputes practice.

Based in New York, Briggs focuses on high-stakes litigation involving complex legal issues, significant exposure, high-stakes trials and the prospect of appeal. He advises clients on dispositive, trial and post-trial motions, as well as appellate strategy, across the state and federal courts of New York and New Jersey. Clients regularly engage him at the outset of litigation to provide appellate and excess exposure monitoring, helping them identify risks early and preserve critical legal arguments throughout the life of a case.

Eileen King Bower, Partner and Chair of Clyde & Co’s North America Board, said:

"Briggs combines deep appellate and motion practice experience with a clear understanding of the commercial considerations that shape litigation strategy. His ability to identify risks early, preserve key arguments and guide clients through complex, high-exposure matters will be a significant asset to our clients and our wider disputes practice. His arrival further strengthens our appellate capabilities across the United States."
