Anissa joined Clyde & Co's Bristol office in February 2019 after first qualifying as a Chartered Legal Executive and then a Solicitor. Anissa specialises in defending pre-action and litigated professional negligence claims mainly acting for solicitors and the firm's leading insurer clients.  Anissa facilitates the efficient and successful resolution of these claims, whist also assessing and making positive recommendations to resolve the coverage issues that arise from them.

Anissa previously worked as a claims handler at another international law firm, where she also gained several years' significant experience in defending professional negligence claims against accounts, engineers, brokers and surveyors.

Experience

• Negotiating a settlement following a claim against a loft conversion specialist arising from alleged breach of a Design and Build contract, breach of Building Regulations and an Award under the Party Wall legislation.
• Successfully striking out a claim against a law firm for breach of trust
• Advising an insolvency practitioner against a claim for costs by HMRC after he issued advice to his debtor clients to enter into an individual voluntary arrangement which was said to unfairly prejudice to the interests of the debtor clients' creditors.
• Successfully negotiating a settlement between a law firm and its former client after it was alleged that the firm had under settled a personal injury claim.
