Matthew has been advising employers, trustees, contractors and public sector bodies on the full range of pensions issues for many years.
Matthew's clients operate across a number of sectors, including the infrastructure and energy sectors.
Matthew is a full member of the Association of Pension Lawyers and a member of the Trustee Group of the Pensions Management Institute. He also has a number of personal charity appointments, currently being a member of a Diocesan Board of Education.

Acting for the trustees of a defined benefit pension scheme on the buy-out of the scheme liabilities with an insurance company, including the legal due diligence aspects and the terms of the buy-out agreement.
Advising an employer with a defined benefit pension scheme on the closure of the scheme to new members and on amending the benefits provided to existing members.
Acting for a contractor with employees in the electricity sector on the protected person issues arising on a transfer of employment.
Advising a number of employers on complying with the auto enrolment obligations.
