Full Profile

As a partner in our large loss team, Stephanie Atkinson handles both liability and quantum catastrophic injury work. She deals with various claims involving brain injury, spinal injury, amputation, fatality and cerebral palsy. She also handles road traffic accidents, employers’ liability, public liability and clinical negligence scenarios.

Stephanie is particularly interested in complex medical causation issues. These include premature birth following a mother’s involvement in a road traffic accident while pregnant.

Currently, her workload includes a variety of cases covering fatalities, severe traumatic brain injury, amputation, paraplegia and cerebral palsy causation claims.

Stephanie was involved in the settlement of a potentially high-value cerebral palsy claim for GBP 100 thousand. This value included costs and involved a firm stance from neonatal experts on the causation of periventricular leukomalacia (PVL).

Stephanie is a valued member of our subtle brain injury subject matter group. She also provides training, both in-house and to clients, on various topics, most recently covering an overview of quantum.
