Austin has dealt with claims arising out of various high profile aviation accidents including the British Midland accident at Kegworth, England, the Thai Airways' accidents at Kathmandu, Nepal and Surat Thani, Thailand as well as the Britannia Airways accident at Gerona, Spain.

He is currently dealing with the passenger claims relating to the Spanair accident, a domestic flight from Barcelona to Gran Canaria, via Madrid, which crashed just after takeoff at Madrid Airport in 2008.

Austin also provides advice in relation to high value personal injury and fatal accident claims and conducts subrogation claims on behalf of insurers. He has taken claims to the Court of Appeal and House of Lords.

He qualified in 1994, having trained at Beaumont and Son, and was made a Partner in 1999.
