Full Profile

Dana Baiocco is a seasoned litigator defending clients in high-stakes matters in the aviation and manufacturing sectors in federal, state, and international courts. She has distinct experience with aircraft component parts, industrial products, consumer goods, and medical devices. She also works with clients in many regulated industries.

Dana is a former commissioner on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the governing body of the independent federal agency charged with regulating consumer products. As one of five CPSC commissioners, Dana contributed to the agency's overall policy agenda and operational plan and participated in rule-making proceedings, voted on dangerous product bans, and prompted other regulatory actions related to the manufacture, sale, and distribution of consumer products.

Dana uses her policy and consumer product litigation experience to counsel clients on strategies relating to products and manufacturing, internal and government investigations, safety auditing, and creating and implementing related compliance programs. She advises clients on regulatory and investigative issues and information disclosures. Dana counsels on investigations, risk mitigation, compliance with regulatory and reporting obligations, quality control and safety programs, warranties, and product recalls.

Prior to her experience at the CPSC, Dana was a partner at another global law firm in its Business and Tort Litigation Practice. She served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Gustave Diamond in the Western District of Pennsylvania. Dana received instruction from US Supreme Court Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist (Summer 1995) and Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg (Summer 1994) through the Cambridge University Summer Law Program.

She has been recognized as a Leading Lawyer in Litigation by The Legal 500 for products liability and mass tort defense for aerospace/aviation (2007, 2009-2011, 2014), automotive/transport (2015-2016), consumer products including tobacco (2013-2014), and toxic tort (2014-2016).
