Kate has extensive experience acting for insurers in relation to coverage disputes and defending litigated claims against policy holders in the Supreme Court of NSW and the Federal Court.
Kate has advised insurers and reinsurers on indemnity, exposure and strategy in connection with D&O, professional indemnity, construction, medical negligence and public liability claims.
Kate has extensive experience in general commercial litigation, including acting for one of Australia’s major banks in several class action proceedings stemming from the collapse of debenture schemes, and assisting on a matter which involved defending warranty and indemnity insurers in one of Australia’s largest commercial litigation matters.
She also has wide experience acting for insurers in the District and Supreme Courts of NSW in professional indemnity disputes, primarily concerning professional negligence claims against medical practitioners.
Prior to joining Clyde & Co, she spent three years with an international law firm in their insurance team advising insurers on indemnity, exposure and strategy.
