Mark has worked in the insurance and professional services sectors for over 23 years, specialising in litigation and investigations involving company directors & officers, professional services firms and financial institutions, as well as all aspects of financial lines insurance and coverage.
He now splits his time between London and Dubai (having been resident in Dubai since 2008, where he was Head of Clyde & Co's market-leading Insurance and Dispute Resolution Group - ranked Band 1 by Legal 500 and Chambers). Mark is recognised by Legal 500 as a "Leading Individual" for arbitration and international litigation, and my "professional negligence expertise, representing Big Four accounting firms and elite law firms". Mark is separately ranked (Chambers Band 2) for handling corporate and regulatory investigations.
Mark has extensive experience of the courts in England & Wales and all the common and civil law dispute resolution forums in the Middle East region (including the DIFC Courts, ADGM Courts, Qatar International Courts, ICC and DIFC-LCIA arbitrations), in addition to domestic and international mediations and ADR. He also has extensive experience of defending investigations and regulatory/disciplinary actions against directors, officers and senior management before specialist regulatory and disciplinary tribunals, including the DIFC Financial Markets Tribunal.
Mark qualified as a solicitor in England & Wales in 2002, is a Part II-registered advocate in the DIFC Courts and is also registered as a Legal Consultant with the Dubai Legal Affairs Department.
He has a particular interest in corporate governance and strategy and completed his MBA (with distinction) at Warwick Business School in 2022.
