Caitlin has experience in various forms of dispute resolution including commercial litigation in both onshore and freezone courts in the UAE, arbitration under DIAC and DIFC-LCIA rules, and regulatory investigations and disputes.

Caitlin has a broad practice and works across a range of industries, with a particular focus on the real estate, hospitality, and professional services (accountancy) sectors.

Caitlin is an English-qualified solicitor, having trained at Clyde & Co in Dubai. She joined the firm in 2020.

Before joining Clyde & Co, Caitlin worked as a paralegal in the Dispute Resolution department of a large law firm in London, where she worked on a significant follow-on damages litigation before the English Competition Appeal Tribunal.

Experience
  • Advising on and defending against information requests and investigations by regulators, including the UAE Ministry of Economy, DFSA and FSRA.
  • Acting for an auditor in relation to potential professional negligence claims and regulatory actions in the UAE and other jurisdictions.
  • Acting for a large UAE real estate developer in relation to fraud proceedings in the ADGM Courts.
  • Acting for several reinsurers in DIFC Court proceedings relating to the application of US sanctions.
  • Advising property management companies and commercial tenants in the DIFC in relation to issues arising from lease agreements.
  • Representing a Dubai based provider of third-party administration services in DIFC Court proceedings against a healthcare insurance provider, for breach of an agreement governed by UAE law.
  • Acting for a luxury car manufacturer in DIFC-LCIA Arbitration proceedings, relating to the termination of an import agreement.
  • Acting for a fuel, food, and logistics service provider in DIAC arbitration proceedings brought by a former subcontractor in relation to services provided to international armed forces in Afghanistan.
  • Defending a multinational European engineering and technology solution company in DIFC-LCIA arbitration proceedings relating to a shareholder dispute arising from the acquisition of the company.
