Elodie is an associate in Clyde & Co’s Employment Group and is based in the Dubai office. She advises on both contentious and non-contentious employment matters, advising clients across the Middle East (including UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Lebanon) on a full range of employment and immigration matters. Elodie is trilingual in Arabic, English and French.
Elodie has extensive experience in litigation and particularly in employment labour claims before the UAE courts. She leads on these types of matters, including criminal employment related claims, before the UAE courts up to the Court of Cassation stage. Elodie provides strategic advice to clients on their defence strategy, attending expert meetings and working closely with local advocates.
Elodie graduated from the University of East Anglia, UK, with a Master of Laws (LLM) in International and Commercial Business Law, completing an international research project on parallel proceedings between national courts and arbitral tribunals.
Experience
Assisting a multinational company on a criminal complaint against an ex-employee related to disclosure of secrets, breach of confidentiality and breach of non-compete agreements.
Defending a UK multinational company against defamation claims.
Representing multinational companies in mediation meetings against ex-employees.
Assisting two software multinationals companies in relation to a group transfer of employees in UAE and KSA. This included drafting tripartite agreements between the old and new employer and drafting new employment contracts for new employer.
Advising a US Company operating in the Middle East on the process and requirements of establishing an entity in UAE and KSA.
Delivering training to more than 1,000 employees for a multinational company related to harassment, bullying and discrimination in the UAE in three different languages.
Assisting with multi-jurisdictional contract review project for more than 90 countries related to UAE government entity.
