Kirsten joined the firm as a trainee in 2015, before qualifying into the Transportation Finance Group as an associate in 2017. 

She has experience in shipping finance, shipbuilding contracts, and sale and purchase, with a particular focus on the superyacht industry, representing both superyacht builders and owners.  Kirsten has  significant experience of contentious matters relating to superyachts, including disputes involving the MYBA charter agreement, MYBA memorandum of agreement, and superyacht building contracts.

Kirsten has a first class degree in English Literature and History from the University of Edinburgh, and is a native Gaelic speaker.

Experience
  • Acting for a major international private bank on several superyacht financing and refinancing transactions.
  • Acting for both shipyards, designers and owners in the negotiation and drafting of superyacht construction contracts and interior/exterior design agreements.
  • Acting for owners in the sale and leaseback financing of two LNG carriers.
  • Drafting standard-form documents for several superyacht building  and design clients, including brokerage and consultancy agreements, NDAs, guarantees, and management agreements.
