Kirsten joined the firm in 2015 as a trainee, before qualifying into the Marine Assets and Project Group in 2017 as an Associate, based in our London office.
She is experienced in advising on all non-contentious aspects of marine projects, with particular experience of shipbuilding contracts, all aspects of sale and purchase work, and a variety of charterparty forms. Kirsten has acted for lenders, owners and charterers on ship finance transactions, including pre- and post-delivery finance, sale and leasebacks, and superyacht finance. Kirsten also regularly advises clients – principally but not exclusively in the shipping and oil and gas spaces – on their compliance with UK and EU sanctions.
Kirsten has a first class degree in English Literature and History from the University of Edinburgh, and is a native Gaelic speaker.

Acting for a major international private bank on several superyacht financing and refinancing transactions.
Acting for owners of a fleet of LNG carriers on matters ranging from sale and leaseback financing, delivery of newbuilds into long-term time charters, and sanctions compliance issues.
Acting for the charterer in respect of the charter of a tug and tow to transport a large item of specialist equipment, using the PROJECTCON form.
Advising a major energy company in relation to the chartering arrangements for an FSRU.
Advising the intended bareboat charterer of a fleet of vessels (at the time still under construction) on protecting its rights in circumstances where there were concerns regarding the head owner’s solvency.
Advising a superyacht owner on their rights regarding the disputed termination of a MYBA Charter Agreement for reasons of force majeure, arising during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Drafting standard-form documents for several superyacht building and design clients, including brokerage and consultancy agreements, NDAs, guarantees, and management agreements.
Advising owners and charterers of LNG carriers in relation to charterparty and financing arrangements.
