Rachel is experienced in both arbitration proceedings (LCIA, ICC and SIAC) and litigation, largely High Court, and with a focus on fraud and commercial disputes. Rachel has extensive experience obtaining and defending against freezing injunctions and other forms of ex parte order. Rachel also acts as an independent Supervisory Solicitor.

Rachel has extensive in-house and private practice experience of conducting investigations, advising on risk and liability at Board level, as well as following up on remediation of compliance programs and recovery civil litigation and injunctions. Rachel advises on compliance matters including anti-corruption, anti-money laundering, CCO, Modern slavery and sanctions across a wide range of sectors and internationally from Board Governance, conflict management policies and procedures, through to supply chain due diligence and controls.  She provides training, builds and reviews client Compliance and Risk Programs.

Rachel also has 5 years in-house experience in senior management and leadership compliance and risk roles in BP and Willis insurance Brokers (now Willis Towers Watson), as a senior manager and Chief Risk and Compliance Officer respectively. This gives her a unique insight into what clients want.  Rachel has also undertaken secondments to the FCA Enforcement Team and a reinsurance company in Germany. Rachel’s client base is cross sector, including trade, financial services, real estate and oil and gas.

Prior to entering the law Rachel served as an officer in HM Forces in Bosnia and Scotland posted with the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders and subsequently as a TA officer in the Inns of Court & City Yeomanry.

  • Undertaking numerous bribery and fraud investigations and advisory work across the regulated and unregulated sector for compliance breaches or concerns across sectors including real estate, construction, insurance, mining and energy, beauty, telecoms and IT

  • Advising on high value complex international arbitrations.
  • Advising  a leading publishing house on contractual disputes with authors and celebrity authors.
  • Acting for shareholders and directors in civil matters
  • Civil litigation arising from  fraud and corruption, including obtaining pre-action ex parte Orders for searches, freezing injunctions and preservation
  • Developing Risk Frameworks and Compliance Programs for insurers and corporates.
  • Advising on an FCA market abuse investigation of an AIM listed entity
