Veronica Dunlop’s practice focuses on US maritime law and international commercial transactions. Veronica advises clients on complex maritime and commercial disputes, regulatory matters, and cross border dealings, and assists in the drafting, negotiation, and interpretation of charter parties, sale of goods and services contracts, and other international commercial agreements.
Veronica has extensive experience in major marine casualty investigations, cargo disputes, limitation of liability proceedings, and the arrest and attachment of vessels, bank funds, and other property under Rules B and C. She counsels clients on US economic sanctions, with an emphasis on OFAC compliance and risk management in global shipping operations. Her regulatory work includes advising on US Coast Guard requirements, the Jones Act, and international conventions governing vessel operations. She is experienced in arbitrations under the SMA, LMAA, ICC, and ICDR rules, and in the recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards under the New York Convention.
Her practice covers a broad range of maritime and commercial issues, including disputes involving cargo loss, international sales contracts, charter party performance, and vessel operations. She has assisted in the investigation and litigation of major marine casualties, including collisions, allisions, and fires. Veronica supports clients by developing litigation strategies and advising on regulatory compliance and commercial risk across their global operations.
Before entering practice, Veronica was an Oralist for the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot and the Monroe E. Price International Media Law Moot. At Brooklyn Law School, she earned multiple distinctions, including CALI Awards for Excellence in International Investment Law and Arbitration and in Legal Writing; the International Economic Law Prize for overall excellence in the study of international economic law; and the Alexander and Emily Mehr Memorial Prize recognizing outstanding student advocates in Moot Court competitions.
