Regional experience
Full Profile

Stuart specialises in catastrophic injury cases arising from motor, employers’ liability, and public liability claims involving complex liability issues, head injuries, amputation, serious orthopaedic injuries and other claims with significant levels of damages. He has also dealt with various claims within foreign jurisdictions.

As a named individual on a number of insurers’ select panels, he supports insurers and insureds to manage some of their largest and most complex claims and, for a major UK motor insurer, is one of a small number of lawyers appointed at Tier 1, handling claims over £3m.

Stuart works closely and collaboratively with leading claimant law firms to ensure early settlement, shorter lifecycles and reduced overall indemnity spend. He also provides advice to insurers on policy and coverage issues and has experience of RTA prosecutions and recovery claims.

Stuart sits on Clyde & Co’s catastrophic injury forum and leads the care, statutory funding and rehabilitation subject matter group which focuses on trends and developments in this area. He also heads a team of lawyers dealing with catastrophic injury and large loss claims for various insurers and major insureds.

Stuart regularly provides seminars and training to insurers within his areas of expertise and has contributed to Binghams and Berrymans’ Personal Injury and Motor claims publications.
