Francois is a legal executive in London with extensive experience in aviation liability on behalf of airlines and their insurers.
Francois has been a legal executive in the aviation liability team in our London office since 2018. His practice consists of mainly contentious aviation matters.
Francois manages a large caseload for several major airlines and their respective insurers in defending personal injury, baggage and cargo claims. Francois has also assisted with the handling of several major losses. Due to the international nature of Francois’ caseload, he has experience with litigation in a number of jurisdictions with a focus on Africa, Europe and French speaking jurisdictions.
Francois has extensive and specialist expertise in Regulation (EC) No 261/2004 litigation.
Francois gained experience working in-house whilst being on secondment with a UK based airline, which led to the firm securing work.
Francois also has experience in general aviation and regulatory matters.
Francois co-drafted an article on the Court of Appeal decision in Blanche v. easyJet (which confirms Air Traffic Control decisions amount to “extraordinary circumstances”). The article was published internally as well as on Travel Law, Quarterly, Lexology and Mondaq.
