Jagdeep Hayre is a member of our abuse and neglect team. He advises on complex historical and institutional abuse cases, social services negligence, failure to remove, and Human Rights Act (HRA) claims.
Jagdeep has 25 years of commercial and contract litigation experience. He spent 16 years as head of civil litigation at Birmingham City Council.
He is skilled in arbitration proceedings, fraud recoveries work, Party Wall Act (PWA) disputes, injunctive proceedings, property litigation, and rent actions.
Jagdeep defends high-value cases. His recent portfolio includes a GBP 16 million dispute in the Technology Construction Court (TCC) for breach of warranties under contract. He has also acted for a local authority in defence of a GBP 2.4 million claim by the department of communities and local government. In another case, he defended a GBP 1.75 million tripartite local government pension scheme contractor dispute. He has also defended public procurement disputes for overpayment, misapplication of pricing mechanisms, and mismeasurement.
Jagdeep is a member of the Law Society of England and Wales and Birmingham Law Society’s Personal Injury Committee.
