Matt advises employers on commercial and practical legal solutions across a range of industry sectors.
Matt is a Senior Associate in the Employment, Pensions and Immigration team. Matt is qualified and admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor in New Zealand.
Matt is experienced in advising on a comprehensive range of contentious and non-contentious employment issues, including contractual issues, executive terminations, disciplinary and grievance processes, redundancy and restructuring, restrictive covenants, senior executive issues and complex discrimination and whistleblowing claims. He also has experience in supporting the employment aspects of M&A transactions and managing and advising on TUPE issues.
Matt is also an experienced litigator, with experience in defending Employment Tribunal litigation including unfair dismissal, whistleblowing and discrimination claims in the UK. In addition to this, Matt advises human resources teams on day-to-day matters such as including disciplinary and grievance issues and capability and performance.
Matt is also a regular speaker and presenter on key topics in employment law.
Matt is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.
