Her practice frequently involves advising clients on compliance requirements, representing them in regulatory investigations and providing assistance in particular to logistics and transportation companies that are subject to investigations by regulatory authorities. With respect to her marine practice, Rita has experience in managing claims related to cargo recovery, bunker disputes, ship arrests, charterparty disputes, and other related matters.
Rita also advises on corporate insolvency matters and represents petitioners and creditors in winding up proceedings.

- Advising and assisting cargo interests in court proceedings against various NVOCCs in relation to one of the world’s largest container vessel casualties.
- Acting for a ship management group in defending a claim of over US$20 million in relation to an explosion on a vessel.
- Advising a re-insurer client regarding a claim of about US$42 million arising out of contamination of blended fuel oil.
Commercial Dispute Experience
- Acting for a client in a High Court action with a claim of over US$30 million under an agency contract.
- Successfully defended a commodity claim with an amount exceeding US$5 million.
Insolvency Experience
- Representing petitioners in winding up proceedings.
- Advising on scheme of arrangement, suspicious transactions, unfair preference claims and rescission of winding-up order.
