Svenja is advising clients predominantly from the shipping and offshore sector in all aspects of shipping law, trade and commercial law as well as in their corporate house-keeping matters. She is an experienced litigator and regularly represents clients in complex litigation and arbitration matters. Having worked for a major Hamburg shipowner for several years prior to her law studies, she has a great understanding of her clients' business also from a commercial point of view.

Svenja represents shipowners, charterers, shipmanagement companies as well as P&I Clubs and hull underwriters in commercial and corporate litigation and arbitration. She is experienced in litigating marine casualties, ship management and general trade and commercial matters, as well as prospectus liability and shareholder disputes.

In addition, she regularly assists clients in their daily in-house matters, including the negotiation and drafting of contracts and corporate house-keeping matters.

Svenja's practice in the Energy and Offshore sector encompasses all stages of the realisation of offshore projects, from tender proceedings to their execution and in case of litigation. She has extensive experience in advising contractors and employers on offshore construction, transportation and installation contracts (in particular FIDIC-based) as well as charter parties (in particular BIMCO Supplytime 2005).

  • Advising a major technical shipmanager in large scale arbitration proceedings concerning its performance under the shipmanagement contract
  • Advising a shipowner in sanctions law related investigative proceedings
