Alan Joaquin practices in the field of insurance coverage litigation relating to directors' and officers' liability insurance, errors and omissions coverage, cyber liability insurance, bad faith, fiduciary liability, investment advisor and mutual fund policies and fidelity bonds. He frequently represents insurers in reinsurance disputes and defends their insureds in matters such as legal malpractice actions and insurance broker disputes. Alan has investigated and negotiated the settlement of various types of claims. He has also successfully defended insurers' interests in litigation in both federal and state courts.

Alan has substantial experience in white collar criminal defense and consultation relating to criminal and civil aspects of the health care fraud and abuse statutes and regulations.

Alan previously served with the US Department of Justice as a trial attorney for the Criminal Division's Fraud Section. His cases focused on fraud committed by or against financial institutions, pharmaceutical companies, home health care facilities and durable medical equipment providers. Alan frequently worked with the Department of Health and Human Services in matters involving the Medicare/Medicaid Anti-Kickback Statute and its corresponding safe harbor regulations.
