Full Profile

Charlotte Kormendy represents and counsels insurers in complex insurance coverage matters. Her experience includes analyzing coverage, finding creative solutions, and resolving intricate disputes between policyholders, claimants, and insurers including: additional insured and contractual indemnity, bad faith, Commercial General Liability (CGL), commercial crime and fidelity, Directors’ and Officers’ liability (D&O), professional liability, Errors and Omissions liability (E&O), Employment Practices Liability (EPL), advertising injury claims, as well as umbrella and excess policies. 

Charlotte also has experience representing financial institutions in consumer financial services litigation. She has defended financial institutions in a variety of cases, including matters alleging violations of the Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), Real Estate Settlement Procedure Act (RESPA), as well as state unfair and deceptive acts or practices (UDAP) statutes and other consumer lending statutes and regulations. In addition, Charlotte’s experience encompasses all phases of litigation from motion practice through trial. Charlotte has handled state and federal appeals, and she has extensive experience representing clients in arbitration and mediation.

  • Obtained summary judgment in favor of insurer for coverage dispute involving allegations related to the execution of an instrument.
  • Obtained summary judgment in favor of insurer on the application of a negligent entrustment exclusion.
