Tal joined the Clyde & Co Toronto office in 2018 after articling and working as a Senior Associate at a leading insurance defence boutique in Toronto. Tal has a broad insurance coverage and defence practice, encompassing several of the firm's practice areas. His areas of focus include insurance coverage advice, professional negligence, municipal liability, occupiers liability, product liability, sports liability, and cyber insurance.

Tal works tirelessly to  resolve his clients' disputes expediently and on the best possible terms, whether it be inside or out of court. He has a breadth of experience representing clients in court and at mediations, and he has a record of success in arguing contested motions in the Superior Court of Justice. Tal's ability to distill the most complicated of disputes into a few simple concepts makes him an effective and persuasive litigator.

Tal obtained his JD from the University of British Columbia in 2015 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2016.

Experience

• Kowaluk v. Western Assurance Company, 2017 ONSC 6077 – Successfully argued that defendant insurer be granted summary judgment dismissing the action on a point of policy interpretation.
• Sidhu v. Toor, 2018 ONSC 4874 – Successfully argued motion to compel an adverse party to answer questions and produce documentation improperly refused at examination for discovery.
