Douglas Mangel focuses his practice on the representation of professional liability insurers in connection with complex insurance coverage disputes arising under a broad variety of professional liability policies, including D&O, private equity, financial institution, investment adviser and general partnership liability policies.
Doug represents insurers in coverage litigation and alternative dispute resolution proceedings and as claims monitoring counsel. As monitoring counsel, he has extensive experience in the investigation and settlement of class action litigation, derivative actions, actions involving mergers and acquisitions, as well as other complex claims asserted against corporations and their directors and officers. He has also served as lead litigation counsel in numerous high severity cases in state and federal courts around the country. Doug has been successful in obtaining rulings at the trial court and appellate levels on emerging issues that have advanced the interests of professional liability insurers.
