Thomas Maroney predominantly focuses his practice on general liability, premises liability, construction, hospitality, Dram Shop, wrongful death, and transportation. Thomas has experience representing commercial real estate owners, food and beverage clients, general contractors, construction managers, and subcontractor entities. He is well versed in New York State Labor Law, OSHA, and NYC Administrative Code. Thomas has significant and extensive experience advising insurance carrier clients on complex coverage issues and developing strategies for resolution. Thomas also assists his clients with initial coverage determinations, opinions, and counsels on risk transfer issues related to additional insured coverage/tender demands.

Thomas most recently led the defense practice of his New York office of a global law firm handling litigation/dispute resolution and advisory services. He also spent several years as a Claims Professional for one of the world's largest publicly traded P&C insurance companies, where he gained considerable experience analyzing coverage, pursuing risk transfer opportunities, and managing litigation for complex general liability, construction, and auto matters throughout the country. Additionally, Thomas spent several years at a global insurance company where he handled professional liability claims across multiple lines of business, including lawyers, accountants, insurance agents and brokers, broker/dealer, and real estate agents.

Over the course of his career as a trial attorney/litigator and claims professional, Thomas has mediated, tried, and cost-effectively resolved countless complex matters involving multiple parties/carriers for his clients and insureds. 

Thomas often speaks on a wide range of topics related to risk transfer (additional insured coverage/contractual indemnification) to insurance carriers and attorneys.
