Alexia completed her Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours)/Diploma of Legal Practice in 2020 and a Bachelor of Arts majoring in French Language and International Relations in 2018 at the University of Newcastle. Alexia has completed study of International Arbitration, Trade and Intellectual Property in China, International Climate Change Law in Japan and studied French Language, Art and Music at the University of La Rochelle, France. Alongside her legal expertise, Alexia is a digital media artist and musician and has exhibited and performed nationally across Australia and internationally in the United States, United Kingdom, China and Europe.

Alexia is an Associate with the Corporate Regulatory team in the Sydney office. Alexia’s areas of focus include acting for large scale clients on both litigious and non-litigious matters. 
Alexia assists in advising clients on corporate governance and regulatory issues in the context of ASIC, APRA and ACCC investigations. Alexia also regularly assists in advising clients on corporate, commercial and consumer law matters. She assists clients with navigating the changing regulatory environment affecting their business and has a focus on the long-term strategic implications. 

Additional areas of focus include advising financial services clients in relation to governance, compliance, licensing and conducting legal due diligence in the context of mergers and acquisitions. Alexia has also assisted in advising clients on compliance issues under the Modern Slavery Act in Australia. 
Alexia has experience in court practice and procedure and has acted for a range of clients in Magistrates Court and Federal Court corporate and commercial disputes. 

Experience
  • Litigation: Acted for an Australian insurer in Federal Court litigation in respect of major trade credit insurance coverage dispute 
  • Consumer Law: Acting for global vehicle manufacturer in various claims made by customers under the Australian Consumer Law arising from the consumer guarantees 
  • Regulatory: Advising various companies on corporate governance issues in the context of ASIC, APRA and the ACCC
  • Regulatory: Advising on directors’ obligations under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) including in relation to voluntary winding up and obligations under commercial agreements
  • Regulatory: Advising on APRA prudential requirements for reinsurance risk management and drafting policies, procedures and frameworks 
  • Regulatory: Advising clients on a wide range of company secretarial issues including in relation to company law and corporate governance issues in Australia
  • Regulatory: Advising clients on Modern Slavery Act (Australia) compliance systems and reporting
  • Mergers & Acquisitions: Conducts legal due diligence for the acquisition of Australian businesses 
  • Regulatory and Investigations: Acted for a global engineering company in an internal investigation in relation to a fatality and acted for a security company in relation to a revocation of their security licence  
  • Pro Bono: Advising on organisation rebranding, intellectual property trademark rights and business and company name registration obligations
