Bastian has been qualified as a German lawyer (Rechtsanwalt) in 2020 and joined Clyde & Co in the same year. He was educated in both Leipzig and Stellenbosch (South Africa) and holds a Master's Degree in International Trade Law (Stellenbosch). He completed his legal clerkship in Hamburg. During this time he worked in the Hamburg office and gained experience at the 6th Senate of the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court in Hamburg and the Municipality Department of Maritime Traffic.
In the Hamburg Office, Bastian´s practice focuses on all aspects of international trade law as well as on the shipping and yachting industry. He specialises in casualty, warranty and insurance claims advising owners, shipyards, sub-suppliers/-contractors, as well as both, insurers and insureds.
