Full Profile

Victor Rae-Reeves is a versatile lawyer having acted in a number of contentious areas for over 20 years.  These include construction / engineering, rail, nuclear, health & safety, police and education.  He has been referred to as the "market leader for complex litigation" (Legal 500)

In the UK he has dealt with significant disputes in the Technology and Construction Court, Commercial Court and Crown Court as well as adjudication, arbitration and Judicial Review.  A large proportion of his work is international with disputes all over the world.  As detailed in the "experience" section, he has won leading cases in the areas of liability, construction and insurance policy coverage.  He has also handled some of the landmark rail disasters, such as Ladbroke Grove, Hatfield, Czech derailment and many more in the UK and abroad.  He is recognised as being "excellent on rail disputes" (Legal 500).  He continues to advise on railway issues on a frequent basis.

Victor also has significant experience of the nuclear sector and was appointed in 2010 to advise the Insurance and Nuclear industry on the handling of large losses and potential catastrophes.

His Health & Safety practice spans many areas including construction, local authorities, education and retail.  He is regularly involved in the immediate aftermath of serious incidents and then deals with all steps of the investigation and prosecution up to the criminal court of appeal.

Victor is a regular lecturer at the University of Madrid and University of Barcelona on the Masters programme and also delivers many lectures and seminars to industry professionals.
