Louisa is an associate with proven experience in resolving complex commercial disputes, frequently with an international element. She joined Clyde & Co’s energy, marine and natural resources team in 2023 and specialises in energy and renewables, international trading, shipping and general commercial litigation.
Called to the Bar in 2018, Louisa completed her training at a magic circle barristers’ chambers and worked at a US law firm for a number of years specialising in trial and global disputes. She has acted in numerous disputes in the High Court in London and in arbitrations before a variety of institutions and rules (LCIA and ICC UNCITRAL, for example) and has experience litigating in multiple jurisdictions handling disputes under English law. Louisa has also appeared before High Court and County Courts around the country. Her experience includes assisting clients with day to day legal issues, including contract negotiation and drafting.
Louisa studied at Cambridge University, obtaining her BA degree (with honors) in law (Double First Class) and LLM (First Class). She was a Rebecca Flower Scholar and William Rogers Grantee, and has received various other major scholarships during her studies.
While she was studying for the Bar, Louisa was also a Teaching Fellow at University College London, specialising in equity and trusts.

- Acting for a major European oil and gas exploration and production company in respect of an LCIA arbitration concerning an asset in Kurdistan
- Commercial Court and related appeal proceedings with regards to $68 billion sovereign wealth fund: Mohamed v. Breish [2020] EWCA Civ 637; Mohamed v. Breish [2020] EWHC 696 (Comm); Mohamed v Breish [2019] EWHC 1765 (Comm)
- Acting for a significant oil & gas company in an ad hoc UNCITRAL arbitration against an Asian national oil company, relating to the company’s right to cost recovery under a PSC.
- Acting for a major chemical company in relation to disputed delay, variation and defect claims and entitlement to liquidated damages arising from the construction of a process plant
- Acting for a major energy company in relation to contractual Fx dispute in the Commercial Court: ConocoPhillips v. Chrysaor E&P Limited [2021] 3 WLUK 524.
