Matthew is a Legal Director based in the Birmingham office. He has been handling personal injury claims for over 24 years. He has been with the firm since 2006. 

Matthew specialises in short tail diseases such as work-related upper limb/cumulative back conditions, foot/lower limb injuries, occupational asthma, and dermatitis. He also has experience of more unusual conditions such as Extrinsic Allergic Alveolitis, lead poisoning and Legionnaire’s disease. He has dealt with COVID-19 cases that have arisen following the pandemic, including a fatality.

He is particularly interested in fraud arising out of disease claims and has previously been successful in securing a finding of fundamental dishonesty against a claimant who allegedly sustained a cumulative back condition. 

Matthew is increasingly being instructed on stress at work and bullying/harassment in the workplace claims and is part of the firm’s focus group on this subject.
