Spenser Swaczyk concentrates his practice on the maritime and insurance sectors, counseling clients on commercial, regulatory, and litigation disputes. He has been involved with significant maritime casualty claims, maritime personal injury, cargo damage, and commercial contract claims.

He has also counseled clients in the regulatory and transactional arena, including drafting and negotiating charter parties, advising companies on compliance with laws and regulations of the US Coast Guard, the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and environmental enforcement under OPA 90, CERCLA, and CWA.

Before joining Clyde & Co, Spenser worked at a mid-size firm in New Orleans, Louisiana, in its maritime practice.

During law school, Spenser was a judicial intern for the Honorable Eldon E. Fallon and the Honorable Susie Morgan, both of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. He received the George W. Nowell Award for Best Petitioner Brief in the Judge John R. Brown Admiralty Moot Court Competition.
