Catherine Tyndale joined in August 2008 the leading insurance boutique which merged with Clyde & Co in 2011. She specializes in professional liability, directors’ and officers’ liability, fiduciary liability, employment practices liability, and crime insurance.
Before joining Clyde, she was leader of insurance broker Marsh Canada’s Eastern Region Executive Risk Practice from 2005 to 2008.
Prior to joining Marsh, Catherine was a Specialty Claims Attorney with Chubb Insurance Company of Canada, with ten years’ experience of handling high-profile specialty insurance claims including shareholder class actions, claims against financial institutions, and the like involving executive risk lines of insurance.
Before she joined Chubb she practiced law for four years in Montreal, with a focus on insurance defence work involving professional liability.
Catherine has a B.A. degree from Carleton University in Ottawa and obtained her law degree from McGill University in 1990. Called to the Quebec Bar in 1991, she is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS). In 2016, she was recognized by Who’s Who Legal Canada in the fields of insurance and reinsurance. Moreover, she was once again recognized by Best Lawyers in the 2023 edition, specifically in the fields of insurance law and professional malpractice law, as well as in the 2023 Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory in the Litigation – Director and Officer Liability category.
Catherine contributed to the 2014 edition of the ABA’s Global Directors and Officers Deskbook.
