José Temes Mosquera

José joined Clyde & Co Madrid in December 2021, after developing his professional career in the corporate and insurance law department of major national and international law firm. 

He mainly focuses his practice in advising national and international companies on insurance regulatory issues, assisting EU insurers and intermediaries to set up operations in Spain, dealing with the relevant regulatory authorities for that purpose. He has also substantial experience in drafting and adapting insurance policies and other contracts to Spanish regulations, represent insurers and intermediaries in regulatory inspections, etc. On the corporate side, José also advises insurance companies and intermediaries, with a particular focus on Insurtechs, to set up and starts operations in Spain, as well as on M&A transactions, portfolio transfers and run-off schemes.

He also assists insurers to handle complex cyber incidents, mainly on the breach response and coordination side.

José studied a Double Degree in Law and Political Science at the Universidad San Pablo CEU (Madrid) and completed a LL.M. with a specialisation in Business Law at Centro de Estudios Garrigues (Madrid). In addition, he has an Expert Degree in Corporate Governance and M&A transactions from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and has studied at the University of Bristol Law School (United Kingdom). He is a member of the Madrid Bar Association.
