Julia joined the London office in 2009. Julia has a Russian law degree from the Moscow State University (2008), and a graduate diploma in law (GDL) from BPP Law School in London. Julia trained at Clyde & Co London and was admitted to practice law in England and Wales in January 2015. Julia's focus is on cross-border M&A and joint venture projects in a range of sectors including natural resources and energy, upstream oil & gas and technology in Europe, CIS and MENA regions. Other projects she is involved in include corporate finance and restructuring.

 

Experience
  • advising New Age (African Global Energy) Ltd on the sale of its 25% non-operated interest in the Marine XII Licence to a subsidiary of LUKOIL for a base consideration of USD800 million
  • advising an overseas seller in connection with the sale of its subsidiary operating in the UK video gaming business for USD500 million
  • advised an Austrian oil & gas company on the sale of 2 concessions in Tunisia (one structured as a share + asset sale and the second as a share sale) for a total of USD115 million
  • advised a UK investor on the acquisition of a distressed business in Kazakhstan including a mini-refinery and substantial stock of crude and petroleum products, structured as a share acquisition
  • assisted an international testing and certification company on group reorganisation across various jurisdictions with subsequent dissolution of various group companies in UK
  • advising a UK renewable energy company on a series of business and share acquisitions including a licensed waste oil collector and processor, an anaerobic digestion plant, a biodiesel production facility, bulk liquid storage facilities and others
  • advising a client on the sale of a controlling stake in its Russian oil and gas exploration and production subsidiary; transaction involved secured loans from buyer to the seller and a debt to equity swap
  • advising a Russian oil & gas company on upstream acquisitions in the north of Iraq including assignment of interest in a production sharing agreement
