Much of Tom's work is cross-border in nature and involves large projects or transactions, especially in the energy, mining, infrastructure and outsourcing fields.
Tom is also experienced in the use of mediation and expert determination. For several years (2006-13), he practised international arbitration and litigation in London at a top-tier law firm.
He is admitted to practice in England and Wales, New South Wales and Western Australia. He is qualified as a Solicitor-Advocate (Civil) in England.

Acting for an EPC contractor on two ad hoc international arbitrations arising out of a major mining project in Western Australia
Acting for a contractor on several disputes arising out of the construction of a major public hospital
Acting for Bharti Airtel in relation to a GBP 1+ billion dispute submitted to UNCITRAL arbitration seated in Lagos, Nigeria in relation to a major telecommunications operator in Nigeria and related litigation in Nigeria and the Netherlands
Acting for a major utilities company in relation to a GBP 100+ million ad hoc arbitration seated in London against a UK government department over a long-term PFI agreement
Acting for British Sky Broadcasting Plc in its GBP 500+ million claim in deceit against EDS Corporation in the Technology & Construction Court in London in relation to the outsourcing and implementation of a major technology project (settled following judgment in favour of BSkyB after a 10 month trial)
Acting for a major mining company in relation to an ICC arbitration and associated litigation in the British Virgin Islands concerning rights over mining concessions in Africa
