Michael is a highly experienced lawyer, specialising in regulatory enforcement proceedings, and large-scale commercial dispute resolution. 

Michael is currently employed in the Sydney office and advises clients on a wide range of strategic, regulatory and risk management issues in the workplace including WHS, industrial disputes, restraint of trade, employee transfers, discrimination, bullying and harassment.

Michael is commercially pragmatic and handles his duties from an advisory, litigation and training & development perspective. Michael’s capacity additionally includes guiding legal strategy development and support on behalf of large-scale business clients, across a variety of industries including; Mining, Engineering, Information Technology, Financial Services, Retail, Commercial Manufacture and Distribution.

Michael has also sat as an Acting Judge in the Labour Court of South Africa in 2019, 2020 and 2021 respectively where he presided over complex employment law issues.

  • Advisory and urgent interdict court applications in respect of unlawful industrial action and community unrest pursuant to industrial action and collective bargaining.
     
  • Execution of corporate restructuring and compliance in respect of employee transfer and compliance.
     
  • Facilitating and prepare employment and safety due diligence reports pursuant to commercial mergers and acquisitions.
     
  • Facilitation of Large-scale retrenchment processes.
     
  • Provide training on employment law compliance and liability.
     
  • Conducting legally privileged incident investigation reports and responding to notices from safety regulators across multiple Australian States and Territories.
     
  • Advising on enforcement of restraint of trade covenants.
     
  • Investigation of allegations of bullying and harassment.
